Philanthropy
Phi Sigma Chi has a rich tradition of giving back to the community. In 2003, Phi Sig was granted money from the university to host Jackson Keller Field Day. Students from Jackson Keller Elementary School were invited to Trinity’s campus for day full of activities. The photo gallery to the right was the first ever Jackson Keller Field Day in 2003. The men of Phi Sigma Chi coordinated events for the underprivileged children such as tug-of-war, rally races, face painting, and even made cotton candy. The Trinity Tiger even made an appearance! The events took place on the intramural field and all around campus. This philanthropy gave the children from Jackson Keller Elementary a day of joy, while giving the men of Phi Sigma Chi a humbling and rewarding experience.

Unfortunately in the spring of 2012 the event was canceled due to extenuating circumstances. By keeping up with Phi Sigma Chi's proactive mentality, the fraternity founded Operation: Tigers for Fighters. Operation: Tigers for Fighters presents two annual events, one each semester, and both support Operation Homefront. This non-profit organization specializes in helping our troops and the families they leave behind. Phi Sig feels a need to thank those who have fought for us, so this was a perfect fit for our annual philanthropy.
The Spring semester event, Turn-Up for Troops, is an annually hosted club night at Club Rio. The party is open to all that want to support the cause, and the theme is accordingly: America. All ticket sales and a raffle competition proceeds are donated to Operation Homefront.
In April of 2015, Phi Sig held a charity Super Smash Bros. tournament to benefit the charity organization associated with the San Antonio Spurs: Silver and Black give back. Given that we shared the same colors and it was a great cause, and we got to play a game we love, it was a rousing success.
