The Crest

The crest is designed around the images of a wolf, a hand, and the Greek word "academia."  The wolf symbolizes Phi Sigs’ belief that independent young men thrive in the camaraderie of a group.  The hand signifies Phi Sigs’ dedication to school and community service.  The word "academia" represents Phi Sigs’ conviction for scholarly endeavors.

The crest on the left is the original from 1996, when the fraternity was known as "Phi Sigma Phi". Even though the name changed in 1998 to "Phi Sigma Chi", this crest continued to be used as the Phi Sig crest until 2013 when there was a dramatic renovation on the symbol.
